How LCP Began

September 01, 2016
LCP held a community wide meeting on July 18, 2012 to discuss needs, solicit project ideas and discuss a vision of Lecompton for our children and future generations.

Some of the ideas that were generated and that participants would like to see in the future in our community include our own identity, more small businesses (including a coffee shop!), youth and adult activities, library, public access to technology, senior services, growth, and health related services and activities.

The visioning process ended with the development of categories of projects for LCP to pursue:

  •     Buildings & Downtown Beautification
  •     Social Gathering & Communication
  •     Physical Activity and Health Services
  •     History & Arts Activities
  •     Services (childcare, education, etc.)
